Osteopathy
Combining the most up-to-date research, and osteopathic natural healing principles, osteopathy is a nationally recognised and widely used form of manual therapy that aims to improve the health of the body’s tissues through the strengthening of the neuromusculoskeletal system. We utilise a variety of hands-on techniques to improve function, performance, and reduce pain, along with thorough assessment and diagnosis to ensure we know exactly what we need to treat. Our osteopaths are highly skilled and experienced, and can apply a wide variety of treatment techniques including massage, joint mobilisation, stretching, spinal and joint manipulation, counterstrain technique, BLT, and myofascial release, all aimed at reducing tightness, pain and inflammation, and encouraging movement and improved function. We also offer dry needling, taping, functional exercise prescription, and postural and lifestyle advice to complement traditional osteopathic techniques.
Osteopathy aims to treat the body and each patient holistically - as a whole - not as just separate parts, to ensure that the body’s own healing processes are being supported, and that everything is working and moving as it should. This addresses the underlying cause of your issues, and all contributing factors to achieve long-term positive outcomes, as well as relief from pain and symptoms. Our osteopaths are patient-focused, meaning we take the time to listen to all your concerns, and focus on all factors that might be impacting your health, including physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, and we work together with you to create a treatment plan that addresses what’s most important to you, to work towards optimal health.
With the Ashburton Osteopathy team working with you, you can be assured that you are in good hands, and that we are doing all we can to help you get back to doing what you love most.
